As Mi’kmaq, we respect the knowledge and traditions that are passed down from our Elders, especially those that guide our youth.
One of the programs we are so proud of at UINR is Nikani Awtiken, a summer camp for Mi’kmaq youth to learn about Traditional Mi’kmaq Knowledge and natural resource management through the guiding principles of Netukulimk and Two-Eyed Seeing.
We are happy to share this video with you about how Nikani Awtiken provides opportunities for community partners and Elders to generously share their knowledge, and to see the positive influence it has on our youth and communities.
Enjoy the video!
